All web hosting solutions: come with a comprehensive graphical
statistics package that enables you to monitor usage trends on your
website. To access these, please visit www.yourdomainname/stats
substituting your actual domain name where indicated.

CGI-bin
For Perl and other CGI scripts: to have the necessary permissions
to execute on our server, they must be stored in the pre-configured
cgi-bin in your root directory. Many cgi scripts need their permissions
to be changed before they can execute - this can usually be achieved
by using the "chmod" function in your FTP software. For
example, in WS_FTP on a PC, by right hand clicking on the remote
file name, a menu of options will appear which includes "chmod
(unix)".
Perl & Sendmail
When configuring Perl and other CGI scripts: you often need to
know the "path to perl" and/or "path to sendmail".
Here are the details for the servers that we provide:
Perl:#!/usr/bin/perl
Sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail
Server Side Includes
Server side includes are available by default - however you need
to give the page the extension .shtml in place of the more normal
.htm or .html for them to work.

Network Status
News of anything significant affecting our services: as well as
routine information announcements about virus hoaxes and threats
or general Internet information can be found on http://status.futureservers.net
which is accessible from the "network status" link at
the top of most of our web pages (but please bookmark as it is
multi homed & will continue even if the main site is off).
Mail Control Panel
Control panel for mapping and POP3 configuration: Each hosted domain
has a control panel to enable you to manage the email system for
your domain. This can be found by visiting the page http://www.yourdomain/system/
- you will need your FTP user name and password (as included on
your welcome email) to log in as domain from this page.

Mail Virus Scanning
All email passing through our servers is scanned for potential
viruses: however this does not mean you should be complacent. We
strongly advise that any computer connected to the Internet, or
configured to receive mail originating from the Internet, has active
anti-virus protection installed and that you regularly update the
virus signatures.
Please be aware that we can only check mail that comes to you via
our servers. If you have other email accounts with other providers,
they may not have as stringent an anti-virus regime in place, so
you could receive a virus infection by that route.
WebMail
WebMail available on all Hosted and Mapped Plus accounts:
There is a web based method of accessing your standard POP3
email accounts on our servers. This method cannot
be used if your email is currently forwarded to an externally provided
POP3 account - however please contact us to discuss your email requirements
and we will be happy to advise you of what options might be suitable.
Your WebMail log-in page will be at www.yourdomain/webmail/
the user name is the alias of the mailbox you wish to access (the
bit before the @ symbol) and the password is the same as the password
for that particular POP3 account.

PHP is the scripting language available on our servers: We currently
provide PHP5 for new accounts. If you would like to learn more about
the uses of PHP, a good starting

Current version on new account is 5.0.x.
MySQL can be setup for
any hosting account from the system control panel (see above).
If you need phpMyAdmin please email admin@futureservers.net to
